'Crossing Bridges' is bringing together two contrasting cultures and fusing them in a way that they complement each other. There are both literal and metaphorical bridges that divide and connect us because of the dissimilarities in cultures. These prints are an amalgamation of Chinese and Arab culture. The traditional pagodas, cherry blossoms, cranes and luminous Chinese lanterns are juxtaposed with camels strutting around and gallant Arabian horses. The colours conform to the cultures like in Chinese culture red symbolises fire, good fortune and joy. In Arab culture, blue means safety and protection, and is symbolic of heaven, spirituality, and immortality.
